About me
The presenting team is a collaborative group of special education teachers from across our complex. Serving spicy students, these educators are piloting the Read 180 program with a focus on reaching struggling readers with IEPs.
This teacher hui is composed of educators who have taught for two years, through those who have been teaching for twenty-two years. All of us are deeply passionate about equity and advocacy for marginalized students, as well as collaborating with imperfect joy. Grounded in a Hawaiian culturally based education framework, they bring a shared commitment to relationship-centered teaching, inclusion, and student empowerment. As a professional learning community, they support one another in weaving academic rigor with compassion, connection, and cultural relevance.
